Up until the 19 thirties, 90 % of all opinions handed down by the court were unanimous. Starting in the 19 forties, with the four horsemen opposing the new deal, you're getting dissents both in in favor of the new deal and oppose to it. The biggest prima donna here is felix frankfort wrote more dissenting opinions than he wrote majority amheam. He thought that he knew everything, and was always annoyed when his colleagues on the court refused to take his advice.
