Misogynoir touches all Black women and particularly for those who are not in positions of power or celebrity, the consequences are even more dire. Misogynoir does have a long history, but just as there has been that long history, there have also been stories of Black women and their allies and accomplices pushing back on that reality. So I see real power in the media narratives that Black women create for themselves as examples and ways that misogynoir gets challenged. Even something simple like Abbott Elementary are creating new opportunities, new ways for people to see Black women"
