The study looked at the auditory system of resus mechacs, a primate relatively closely related to us. The researchers found that they were mostly surprised if wermoved the notes on the downbe so they already have this high expectation something will happen on the downbeat. It does not happen. They're more surprised, and only other positions thet are less or not surprised at all. This suggested that it is not likely a learned skill, which was the hypothesis uptill then, that it was really because parents moved their children y.
