A new police officer in a small town was assigned to stop drunk drivers. He would pull people over when they were driving suspiciously, and many of them would get d w i. This went on for a very brief period of time before public outrage led him to quit his job. The story goes to the heart of this human conundrum we have: We're building systems for humans, and humans are broken people. And if we don't take that count into account, where we're doing something wrong, it makes me kind of embarrassed because I think none of them is perfect.
