How to Be Happy Independent of Conditions

It seems that if you're in a place of deeper happiness, you can approach this kind of an event from a state of equanimity. Your response to the specific situation is not going to be something you engage from a place of fear or stress reaction and programmed reflex. And as far as conditional happiness goes well, that's the best we can do. So how to be happy independent of conditions? Corona being a condition in a way that makes you better able to take care of conditions. This sounds like a good plan, because it allows us to sort of have our cake and eat it too.
