Could You Use an Open Lexor Microscope for Malaria Diagnostics?
The open flectior microscope can be used to do anything with a conventional optical microscope. It has different imaging modes that you would find on a typical optical microscope. The whole thing is is printable, is open source and is locally manufacturale. i'm really excited that bte and tansinea are able to produce the microscope,. And our hope is that in the coming years, they will get certified and be able to sell that into hospitals and other medical markets from the u.K. Side of that partlership. Malaria affects about 200 million people a year, and about half a million of those will die, more or less all of them under fives.
