Truth Telling Is Appropriate Power
A perpetual liar, think of how people look at that. What the person says, even if they're saying the right thing or a good thing,. They've given up their power. So truth telling is appropriate power. And it builds character in us because it builds a consistency with reality. If we just speak the truth lovingly, kindly, it will have a good effect. It produces an inward character that can do the right thing on the spur of the moment. You don't have to think about it particularly because you have built deeply ingrained habits. The old term was theologia habitus. Holiness is freedom. Freedom. There you go.
