The Text Book on English Rhetoric by Thomas Wilson
In the mid 15 fifties, people felt that way about a lot of things. Thomas wilson's text book on english rhetoric argued for a return to a plain and simple form of English. In essence he was arguing that educated speakers should go back to basic and return to the traditional roots of the language. The reign of henry the eighth had been very turbulent, and a lot of traditions had been thrown out of the window. England had broken with the catholic church in rome.
