The Cost Advantage of Nuclear Energy

EDF has plans to reach a total renewable capacity of 50 gigawatts across the world by 2050. Katrin Bach says nuclear energy needs to stay a part of the equation, but it's not cheapest. Nuclear power in operation is carbon neutral because it requires vast amounts of steel and concrete - neither of which are zero carbon. But that doesn't meannuclear energy necessarily is the best option, he thinks. And there's another caveat, climate change itself.
