I hesitate to say we could have got away with no lockdowns at all. I suspect that's going too far, although the case of Sweden suggests that voluntary measures could have done an awful lot. We do need to have a long hard look at the kind of advice scientists are giving in situations like this. It's a bit of a scandal as to how alarmist a lot of them were.
