The Grace of Jesus Changes Us

Simon and the woman are both debtors. What's the difference? Well some would say this woman needed Jesus more, and so she was more full of joy. But I think here's the genius of the parable. Neither people in the parable could pay their debt. Which means legally they were in the same position. No matter how great the debt is in that day, if you were unable to pay, you would both go to debtors prison.
