Introduction
In 20 17, a forty seven thousand americans died as a result of opioid overdose. In the late 19 nineties, pharmaceudical companies reassured the medical community that patients would not become addicted to prescription pain relievers. This is things like oxy cotton, and health care providers began to prescribe them at greater rates because they work really well. They subsequently led to widespread diversion and misuse of these medications,. before it became clear that these medications could indeed be highly adictive.
