The Vandals of Southern Hispania

The vandals fought a minor conflict with their former Suavic allies in 420, and after suffering a defeat, were treated into southern Hispania. They built a fleet of ships and raided the Balearic Islands and just across the Straits of Gibraltar into North Africa where they established a small foothold. In 429, just as Fridhamal would have been old enough to start fighting for real, the vandals pulled up stakes and crossed into Africa en masse,. led by their newly crowned king Geyserich.
