What Does Writing a Book Mean?

I think that reading has made me a better person. And, and i say it in the novel, that, you know, i might not be able to do something, but not doing something is a crime. Now, how do you make a book go into action, as opposed to being there? How do we make any form of art or recording of life, that actually is more action than thinking about it? It's just that every now and then i must do something.
