I think it's a profoundly flawed view of what it means to be human. We could raise the next generation of Americans to be half as tribal as we are, if adults got our stuff together. There's an ethical problem here that's independent of the political problem. I feel like there is a set of people who don't want to acknowledge the extent of inequality and injustice in this country.
