The Gap Between Neural Networks and Our Pioneering Scientists
Jay Parini: I have plenty more questions about the gap, I suppose we could put it this way, between neural networks and our pioneering scientists and mathematicians. We haven't even gotten to mathematical cognition, sadly; but in the interest of time, I just wanted to ask one more question. He says he left his affective and social interpersonal questions about human nature in favor of things that are a little bit more than what we might call the cold cognitive realm. The work with RAV that I told you about before on applying some of our models to value-based decision-making shed some light in that kind of area.
