Fraga's confusion of meaning with naming no doubt helped engender his absurd notion that pegasus is an idea, a mental entity. He confused the alleged named object pegasus with the meaning of the word pegasus and therefore concluded that pegaus must be in order that the word have meaning. But what sorts of things are meanings? This is a moot point, however one might quite plausibly explain meanings as ideas in the mind.
