The right to freedom of speech has been under constant assault throughout American history. The work we'll be looking at is called On Liberty by John Stuart Mill, a British philosopher who lived in the 1800s. Every generation faces new threats to the freedom of speech and ours is no different. Ronald Reagan said that freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.
