The deer hunter, i usually cite that as my favorite movie of all time. I was really young to see something so kind of violent and upsetting. It really had an impact on me. And it's fonny in a way, that the same system will produce that and will produce, you know, red dawn,. But i liked the 20th century version better than ours. Ours was better but not a work of genius, but hollywood is so good at tapping into some primordial desire for change. That's like what i wanted to do at 15: fight against the communists who were trying to take over our country.
