The Hell of a Texas Summer Doing Hard Labor Outside
I think the elements and the back-breaking hard work that it takes to run a farm, you know, of any kind. I have a friend who was a farmer from like age 20 to just last year. The bugs, the heat, the snakes, just like, oh my God, not fun, right? Like just awful, awful. And so much of the labor, the worst of the labor,. obviously, fell on the slaves.
