Introduction
The first hearing in the criminal case against Donald Trump for his attempt to overturn the 2020 presidential election got underway Friday. U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkin issued a warning shot to Trump and his legal team. She rejected prosecutors' broader protective order proposal that sought to prevent the public release of all evidence they hand over to Trump's defense as they prepare for trial.
