Shannon Gilbert and the Long Island Serial Killer Investigation
Shannon Gilbert was working as a sex worker in Oak Beach, Long Island. She disappeared and the search for her began probably a week or so later. The police ultimately find a body on a stretch of beach called Gilgo Beach. They think it's going to be Shannon Gilbert, but it wasn't. Then they find another and another and another - none of them are Shannon. And at that point they realize they have a serial killer,. But they still don't find Shannon who's the reason all these people were found in the first place.
