When i was in high school, my senior year, i got a flat tire. Next thing you know, it's raining. Of course, i end up repairing my tire and getting to school late. So i go get line with all the other dead beats and miscreants who are late to class. And one at a time, they're cuing up to this guy named mister blair. He was the dean of students; he was the disciplined guy. I love tell that story because the patterns we set often a result in the relational strength or weakness that we have.
Nobody’s perfect. Intellectually, we know that to be true, but that rings hollow when we come up short and fall into the quicksand of sin. While our sin might create problems with our relationships here on earth, it ultimately offends the God who created us and sent His Son to die for us. Thankfully, He has proven time and again that He is faithful to forgive when we come to Him in humility. As we continue our study of Proverbs 16, we’ll see that God’s trustworthy love and grace can help us course correct so we can become the men He created us to be.
