The Importance of Mind-Body Syndrome
The half-life of anger when you're no longer thinking about why you should be angry is on the order of tens of seconds. Once you unhook from those thoughts, you actually can't stay angry for more than a few moments at a time. There's literally no way to stay angry but to be captivated by the thoughts that would argue that you should be Angry. All of these negative emotions are appropriate if they only serve as salience in your life.
