Savina Betelheim's The Stepmother has been tremendously influential. She says the myth that we are necessarily have to have a, evil figure to project our anxieties onto can be reinforced by this sort of myth. We still don't have many fairy tales or stories about stepfathers and why do you think that is? I think that's because fatherhoods is still relatively invisible in common cultural discourse.
