The Importance of Knowing What Are Fees
Sally Kohn: There's a huge population of largely black and brown people who are underbanked or unbanked. She says that it comes from one not having as much money to put in the bank. Kohn: If you already don't have a lot of money, if there is some sort of maintenance fee where you have to have a certain amount of money, you're less likely to put your money in a bank. The Equal Credit Opportunity Act in 1974 made it illegal for a creditor to discriminate based off of a variety of factors.
