The Effects of GLP1 Receptor Agonists on Addiction

The hedonistic monkeys of St. Kitts and Nevits have a long history with alcohol because the islands used to be a big center of rum production. GLP1 receptor agonists were able to reduce the amount of alcohol that these heavy and moderate drinking monkeys were taking in. But when they looked inside their brains, they were also seeing that areas related to reward,. like the neurons that give you dopamine rushes, were really being kind of tamped down by these GLP 1 receptor agonists.
