How to Write Horror Novels

Horror often has in-universe rules or like the victims usually they've transgressed in some way right. In real life the kind of violence that people experience because of their identities is much more randomized so even a small transgression can be so unforgiven in horror novels and movies. You know you weren't even supposed to be here right now but now too bad for you.
