Some people think that maybe some of the ketones produced during a ketogenic diet, even though they might not be eating any fiber, may be able to replace some of the effects of butyrate on the gut. So they think, oh, it's okay, maybe I can just like, not eat any fiber and just have high ketones and I'll be okay. And it may be true, but it might not be true. It is really funny how those two threads get wound together.
