Left-leaning governments did very well when China was demanding a lot of commodities from Latin America. Now the Chinese economy is slowing down, and this will impact for sure how economists in Latin America perform. Part of that is there have been so many global crises, and traditionally, Latin America ranks pretty low on the list of US interests apart from drugs and security issues.
