Nonstandard Is Not Standard

All of my acting professors' voices met what people think of as standard US American English. So many of my own negative self-image came from what teachers or peers would label as nonstandard behavior, which really kind of carved the way for how I think about myself now 30 years old. "We all have accents. We all have beautifully unique voices," she says.
