The Cycles of the Elites

The elites were caught off guard because of a failure of collective memory. They believed that they were doing everything right, and absolutely didn't see the failures which led to mass enthusiasm for newcomers. I sometimes wonder if America is now on the way down that we had elites that took us in a dangerous direction; maybe we won't recover. Chinese certainly believe this is their time.
