The Root of Shame Is Trauma

The root of your shame thoughts, I believe, is trauma. And the way to fight our way out is to pay attention to the conversation that you're having with yourself. When we grow up in an abusive home and have complex PTSD, that shame can be directly correlated with something wrong with us. We don't even know what's going on. Oh, they were abused. Not that that condones a behavior, but it can help explain it somewhat.
