The Importance of Being Friendshipful in Japan

A lot of my Japanese friends to this day in from Australia are guys and girls I've known since I was, you know, like less than one year old. It's very hard to like penetrate like the deeper level unless you've known them for like a very, very long time. Is that why there are so many childhood friend characters in anime? Yeah.
