Since february thousands of long standing partnerships and agreements between russia and western institutes universities have been put on hold. Projects involving russian researches have either been put on ice entirely or suspended their participation. Data that comes from remote research stations in siberia gives unique data points on climate change, which is now not available to western researchers. In norway, i spoke with a daggrin olsen, who's the rectory of the arctic university in tromsa, which is a major arctic centre. He said, the sanctions have ut research difficult spots.
