Miss Rosemont Was Not Hidden in the Drawing-Room

Dorothy Fernaval and Agnes Rosemont went to look for Miss Rosemont. Dorothy said it was not possible, that she herself had never been in the east wing of the house. But there were two footprints which might be traced from the whole door and round the corner of the east wing. When I looked out into the front court a black shadow fell on the snow but when I came again into the moonlight, there were the little foot-marks going up, up to the fels. Mrs. Fernaval shivered and shook so much that Mrs. Stark took her back into the warm drawing-room,. but not before they had made me promise to bring her to them
