The Essenes, Were a Sect, a Division of the Main Stream Judaism

The assenes were a sect of judaism. They put up boundaries between themselves and other parts of Judaism. Their main occupation there seems to have been collecting, copying, studying the literature of their sect which included the biblical literature. There are some manuscripts of the bible that take us back a thousand years before we had complete bibles in mediaeval period.
