Multiple Fulfillment of Prophecy
"Multiple fulfillment of prophecy" is an idea often used in the LDS church. It means that prophecies can be applied to both Jesus Christ and a specific person, like Isaiah prophesied about Mahr Shalal Hoshbah's birth. "When you hear invoked the idea of multiple fulfillment of prophecy, you're encountering a place where the original prophecy doesn't work in context," says President Hinckley.
