Do You Feel Like You're Translating Tone and Sound and Meaning?

i'm always fascining by tone and how you translate that. Ye, i wonder about the plain spokenness of it. And does that come across in the original, i wonder. Oe of the really interesting things about the way that patricia cavali has been translated is that she doesn't really seem like one poet in that book. She seems like a lot of different poets. Sometimes you can sort of feel it going far afield, and you think, i don't know about that. I don't know how close that can be to this other poet. They wanted to filter it through all these different american voices and see see what survived,. or what what it amounted to
