Not a single plane is shot down, all the crews have an opportunity to get to safety. 69 men altogether make it back home to the united states safely and become really the greatest and most celebrated american heroes of the war to that point. The end ofd making a number of disastrous decisions throughout the war, including the battle of midway directly provoked by the essentially psychic successes of the dulile raid yell.
