The Clintons' Dismissal of Jennifer Flowers' Affair
The Clintons initially dismissed Flowers' claims, with a spokesperson saying she was peddling trash for cash. On 60 minutes, Clinton called the star story false, but in the guise of empathy for Flowers, tied her sale of the story to the bad economy fostered by his opponent Bush. "I think you can expect more and more of these stories as long as they're down there handing out money," he said.
