Gates Foundation could do with proper outside scrutiny. The foundation can really change the skew in their grant making to focus on building institutions in the poor world. Just around five % of their financing since 19 99 roughly goes into organizations that are headquartered in africa and asia, respectively. They have almost 15 hundred people in america, but less than 60 on the african continent. I interviewed the chief executive, mark susman, and he told me about the plan to work with the local intermediaries whos scale in africa. Afia presence has grown significantly and unexpected to continue to grow.
