The History of the World War II German Uniform

The Second World War uniform wasn't actually designed during the Second World War. They were beginning to redesign the uniform of the German army in 1932. It struck me as it hacks back to an earlier period. I don't know what it says about the national character, does that German tunic? we'd moved out of those style of tunics in the 30s. We were moving into the shorter battle dresser that the Americans followed on there with the Ike jacket. The Germans sort of clung on to that. Is it a modernized version of the First World War uniform? Loosely, you could say that, but it is quite different.
