He helped organize the insurrection of august tenth, and though he was absent from paris for the trial of the king, he made no secret that he supported death with no appeal. With his strong background in law, he was appointed by the convention to serve on the constitutional committee alongside hero. Once there, he became something like de facto foreign minister, handling almost all the committee's diplomatic business. So when deglantina said hero was now selling secrets to the austrians, robespierre was absolutely ready to believe it.
