Lenin wanted them to make a bunch of trouble. The mensheviks, from axle rod and martof on down believed that at this stage, the liberal cadets were their allies - or at least they should be. But lenon and the bolshevik were implacably hostile to the liberals. They thought working together, under cadet leadership, they would all topple the czar.
