Private label can make sense because there's higher margins. It's more profitable for companies. But they did it at right when the pandemic hit. They weren't able to effectively source all of their new products from China. And also they ended up doing it at the expense, perhaps unintentional, but at the expense of some of these well-known brands that took people to the store for decades.
