I've specifically been looking really closely at medical language and how it seeps into our culture in many unexpected ways. Recently, as you know, I was working on a piece about the weirdness of pregnancy language. And I think that everybody has heard this phrase geriatric pregnancy,. which actually is not used that much in the medical sphere but yet has made its way into the popular imagination. It signifies how medicine views women who are 35 or older.
