Is This a Battle for the Future?

First deputy head of the presidential administration said a gay kiri anchor who has reinvented himself as an exceedingly hawkish hawk. He said this is a battle for the future which on one level yes familiar rhetoric but I think it does actually genuinely convey the thinking at the top of the system that this is not just about the future of the world order It's also about Russia's future as a truly sovereign great power.
