The Importance of Vision in the Course
In normal perception, we mentally interpret what our physical eyes see but we can never know what we are seeing because the nature of perception is that we are separated from what we're trying to know. It's not about vision, it's about the opposite of vision. Our normal way of perceiving, we look out with our eyes, we hear with our ears, we gather information with our senses and then we interpret that. That's all we know about what perception is. And this is just a general point to set us up. But I would love it not to just be a category that's in course students' minds but a category in society in general.
