The Role of Impartiality in Moral Philosophy
I think Rawls's deceptive simplicity in asking you to concede that the starting point is a social contract and the question of the social contract. I think it basically asks you to concede a certain point, a certain way of thinking about ethics which rules out half of Western philosophy. And so for me, what, and I agree with Rawls's stance, but it's interesting that he starts by just ruling out there's another way ofthinking about ethics, which is not as impartiality. But yeah, one that is actually quite a big ask.
